Field services are provided by qualified engineers and technicians, many of which have been trained abroad in our service and equipment partners’ facilities. Professionals who deal with onboard systems all have the required certification for working offshore.

The technical field services team has at their disposal a complete stock of spare parts as well as set of modern test instruments. A skilled administration team provides back-office support for travel and logistics, in order to speed up the delivery of spare parts and components, improving maintenance and repair service response times.

International supplier certification

C.FOSTER is certified by several leading international manufacturers to sell, install, operate and repair their equipment in Brazil.

C.FOSTER provides the following services:

  • Design of telecommunications stations, comprising the following activities:
    • Site survey – C.FOSTER’s activities start with a technical visit to evaluate the customer’s installation site and to determine some installation characteristics:
      • Location where the antenna will be installed and whether this offers a clear view of the proposed satellite
      • Network and electrical cable routing
      • Verification of electrical and environmental conditions in the room where the indoor equipment will be installed
      • Identification of interfaces with customer equipment and systems
    • Station Project - including details of the system to be installed and changes required in the customer’s infrastructure prior to equipment installation activities
  • Manutenção Pró-Ativa
  • System installation and activation:
    C.FOSTER manages all system installation and activation activities at the customer’s site:
    • Antenna and radome (where applicable) assembly
    • Cable laying and cable connection
    • Equipment installation, set up and configuration
    • System test, commissioning and activation
    • Earth Station licensing with Anatel
  • Support and maintenance
    C.FOSTER provides field support and proactive maintenance services for offshore and land-based systems. Proactivity, fast response and customized service are our differentials.
  • Support with system certification and registration
    C.FOSTER has a deep understanding of Brazilian telecommunications regulations and has helped several international companies in certifying equipment and in registering land and maritime stations and systems for permanent and for temporary operation in Brazil.
    A very common activity is the registration of satellite communications systems aboard foreign vessels arriving in Brazil. This task includes:
    • Registration of the vessel’s satellite earth station with ANATEL
    • Provision of satellite services under C.Foster’s telecom operator license, considering that local regulation states that any signal uplinked in Brazil must be provided by an ANATEL authorized service provider.
